Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003)

Dutch costume designer who entered film working wardrobe on the UK/Netherlands production of A ZED & TWO NOUGHTS (1985). She was wardrobe supervisor for THE COOK THE THIEF HIS WIFE & HER LOVER (1989) and wardrobe mistress for PROSPERO'S BOOKS (1991). As costume designer, van Straalen's film credits include DROWNING BY NUMBERS and SHADOWMAN (both 1988), ORLANDO (1992), THE BABY OF MÂCON (1993), THE PILLOW BOOK (1996), THE GAMBLER (1997), FOGBOUND and MAX (both 2002), GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING (2003), and THE LIBERTINE (2004).  Nominated for Costume Design 2003: GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING 1 nomination
