Born in Salzburg, Austria. Started working with film at the age of 12, producing a number of Super 8 movies. In 1990, he became a director's assistant for John Bailey in Hollywood (THE SEARCH FOR INTELIGENT LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE, 1991, with Lily Tomlin). From 1993 to 1995, he was the organizational head for Salzburg's Diagonale Film Festival. He has worked on a number of multimedia and CD-ROM projects. He lectures on screenwriting technique and film software and owns a multimedia production company in Vienna, Austria.
Austrian credits include AUCH FARBE KANN TRÄUMEN / COLOR CAN DREAM (1981), MONSTER IN SALZBURG (1982), VOM GEIST DER ZEIT / THE SPIRIT OF TIME (1985), TX-TRANSFORM (1998), HELLER ALS DER MOND / BRIGHTER THAN THE MOON (2000), LINKSRECHTS / LEFT RIGHT and COPY SHOP (both 2001) and FAST FILM (2003). Widrich produced JEDER SEIBTE MENSCH (2006).
