Wofford grew up in a rural southern town in Georgia and displayed an artistic talent at an early age. In 1990, he entered the Valdosta State University BFA Program on a competitive art scholarship and immersed himself in developing his talents. After several years of study at VSU, he began to feel frustrated with his college direction. He decided to leave with his Associate Degree and head for Hollywood. Infatuated with hyper-realism, Wofford pursued work in the motion picture industry creating realistic people, characters, and animals. His obsession with advanced translucent silicones led him to develop his own formulas and techniques which in turn catapulted him to the forefront of the makeup effects industry.
An accomplished scuptor, Wofford entered American film at Alterian Studios in 1995 with TANK GIRL (uncredited). Other feature film credits include PROJECT: METALBEAST (also 1995), THE CRAFT and THE ROCK (both 1996, principal artist), WARRIORS OF VIRTUE (1997), and HUSH (1998). Since 1999, Wofford has been associated with Greg Cannom. Subsequent credits include IDLE HANDS (sculptor: Cannom Creations) and BICENTENNIAL MAN (both 1999), THE DISH and HANNIBAL (both 2000), AMERICA'S SWEETHEARTS and A BEAUTIFUL MIND (both 2001), BULLETPROOF MONK (2003), THE WHOLE TEN YARDS, THE LIFE AND DEATH OF PETER SELLERS and COLLATERAL (all 2004), BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE 2, SCARY MOVIE 4 and LADY IN THE WATER (all 2006), and PERCEPTION (2008).
